Re: "Edison Illuminated", by Edmund Morris, NYTimes Book Review, Sunday March 25
The Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers has more than 400 thousand members who are perfectly able to say exactly what electricity is, contrary to what Mr Edmund Morris writes in "Edison Illuminated." Any of us, as well as millions of colleagues in related professions, are perfectly glad to explain this beautiful subject to anyone who is interested in learning.
I ought to add that in our profession we recognize that Steve Jobs led the most innovative corporation of the last few decades. To appreciate the achievements of Thomas Edison, an ad hominem attack on Jobs is not necessary.
