The branches of mathematics

Is it correct to say that geometry is the mathematics of space, and calculus the math of time? If so, what are algebra and algorithms?

(Geometry, analysis or calculus, algebra & arithmetic, and algorithms & graphs being roughly the 4 branches of Mathematics.)

caulos@pait To me, calculus and algebra are also related to space (e.g. calculating area, equation of a plane).

lameiro@pait I don't think of Calculus as math of time. I think of it as math of relations between things. time is only one of the things.

Why do you consider calculus and álgebra as different branches if they are so alike?
