This Thursday the NYTimes published a piece by Paul Bremer, linked above, that could have appeared in a satyrical magazine under the heading "How we know that Paul Bremer would have been a great trial lawyer." You don't really need to read his self serving and tedious argument about the disastrous handling of Iraqi security, but it is worth summarizing them:
First, the Iraqi army was not dismantled. Second, someone else did it, not me. Third, I was following orders. And fourth, it was the right thing to do.
