Viva Zapata! as retold by Henrique Pait

Emiliano Zapata leads a delegation of peasants bringing a grievance to the president of Mexico. The president listens politely. After they leave, the president asks an adviser for the name of the leader. "Emiliano Zapata, señor."
"Brilliant fellow. Very well spoken, well meaning."
And then gestures towards the adviser with his hand cutting across his throat.

Fast forward to the end of the movie. A peasant leads a delegation to now President Zapata, who listens attentively. After he leaves, President Zapata asks for the name of the leader.
"Manuel Sánchez, señor." (or whatever)
"Brilliant fellow. He has a future."
And then gestures towards the adviser with his hand cutting across his throat.

As retold by my father, who had a very creative memory. I don't know how accurate, but for sure almost better than the version by John Steinbeck, Elia Kazan, Marlon Brando and the like ;-) Which I don't recall, have to watch with the kids one day.
