I have a computer connected to an UPS. The laser printer is of course NOT connected to the no-break, but it is in the same room.
When the printer goes off, the computer goes off. I understand that the printer sucks electricity and lowers voltage. Isn't this precisely the problem a battery backup is expected to solve? What should I do?
- Get a new no-break? Mine is a small APC one - good brand, perhaps I need a fancier model with faster response.
- Get rid of the Brother laser printer, because it defeats the no-break?
- Or use laptop computers exclusively?
Earnest suggestions appreciated.
