Two of the remaining newspapers in the United States (I forgot which is the other) give us an opportunity to compare the quality of their writing. The New York Times has a simple, informative piece by a young scholar reminding that religious intolerance among Puritans extended to banning Christmas celebrations. A week later the Wall Street Journal responds with a diatribe by a religious activist bringing the words "ethnic cleansing" to push his side of the debate about religious freedom.
The gift of free speech renews itself. Merry Christmas y'all!
