White House Scraps Bush’s Approach to Missile Shield

You read it here first.The anti ballistic missile shield has failed in successive tests, and the proposed location and configuration were unsuitable for the Persian and North Korean threats. Russia was annoyed, and while misplaced interceptors that were never going to work gave some Americans and Europeans a false sense of security, Israelis got the message that they would be on their own. Not taking the wrong road comes before the first step in the right direction.
